You Don't Need This

As I've been deep spring cleaning mode preparing for a move into a new home, I came across this quote from a book I read over a decade ago, Spiritual Enlightenment The Damdest Thing by Jed McKenna where McKenna state a piece of profound truth:

“In the process of waking yourself up, you quickly realize that there’s no outside authority. You have to verify everything yourself. If you adopt something someone else said, it’s only after you have verified it for yourself. If Jesus, Buddha, or Lao-Tzu made it, you can make it. There’s no choice about this; you can’t walk in someone else’s shoes and there’s no turnkey solutions.”

As I continue to seek my own growth and expansion in all areas of my life, I have greatly come to realize the truthfulness of this statement, aligned with what my own mentors have taught me all along: that each of us has EVERYTHING we need in this moment RIGHT NOW for our own healing and awakening.

We literally have all that we need in this moment right now to get to where we want to go.

We literally do not need to wait for circumstances to change, to have more money, the right relationship, a better job, a better mood, or a new anything in order to wake up to our fullest potential.

This morning during my morning meditation and practice time, I was listening to an audio blurb by one of my favorite sacred intimacy teachers, David Deida, where he essentially said the same thing but in different way:

'We do not need to heal all of our emotional issues before we can open deeply to god. We don't need to clear all our baggage or get to any particular state in order to open into deep blissful union with the Divine.'

One of my other favorite spiritual teachers from long ago dropped some similar verse:

"If those who lead you say to you, 'See the kingdom is in the sky, then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you 'It is in the sea, then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you and it is outside of you....Recognize what is in your sight and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you. For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest."--The Gospel of Thomas V3-5.

In essence, If we are waiting for any of precursor to occur before we allow ourselves to become awakened, or to be deeply penetrated by god, or to realize the perfection of existence as it is in this moment RIGHT NOW, then we will always be waiting.

We will never awaken.

We will never know the bliss of total surrender to the Divine.

And we will remain in a state of seeking outside ourselves for the solution, in a perpetual state of "not enough-ness".

So what have you been waiting for?

• Are you waiting for the perfect tool or technique to finally provide you with the solution you seek?
• Are you waiting until you don't feel any more fear or guilt before you make the changes you know you need to make? Or say the thing you know you need to say?
• Are you waiting until you have more money to start living into the life you've always dreamed?
• Are you waiting until you have no more emotional baggage before you call in your soul mate?

If you are waiting for ANYTHING before you allow yourself to wake up, to live your best life, to self actualize into your highest potential, then I'd like to invite you to drop all of that striving and trying and beating yourself up RIGHT NOW.

And simply just learn to BE HERE NOW.

In THIS MOMENT.

Open yourself to surrender to the PERFETION of all of life's IMPERFECTIONS.

This is the key to FREEDOM and the stairway to your own personal heaven. ;)
